several years ago costa rica goverment took a very inportant desion that the country will not have an army .the money used for the maintanence for the army was used on health , education , and other basic needs of the people . the country provides basic services  and amenities for its people . health education is also considered  very inportant and knowledge about health is considered as a essential part of education at all levels . costarican goverment beleves that a country must be healthy for its development and pays a lot of attention on its people , now costarica is considered as one of the healtiest country in south america

Some years ago Costa Rican government took an important decision not to have an army and take that money for health,clean drinking water, proper sanitation etc Hence Costa Rica is one of the most healthiest countries in South America .
