Answer:

A covalent bond, also called a molecular bond, is a chemical bond that involves the sharing of electron pairs between atoms. These electron pairs are known as shared pairs or bonding pairs, and the stable balance of attractive and repulsive forces between atoms, when they share electrons, is known as covalent bonding

Covalent bonds are formed by sharing of electrons between non metals.

These are of two types:
(i) Polar bonds
(ii)Non-Polar bonds

A polar covalent bond is defined as the bond which is formed when there is a difference of electronegativities between the atoms. It is also defined as the bond which is formed due to the unequal sharing of electrons between the atoms.  example: HBr

Non-polar covalent bond is defined as the bond which is formed when there is no difference of electronegativities between the atoms. It is also defined as the bond which is formed due to the equal sharing of electrons between the atoms.  Example: F2
