Mendel cross in flower
Explanation:
- Suppose white is dominant over purple flowers ..
- WW * pp ( genotypic ratio )
- white * purple ( phenotypic ratio )
- W * p ( gamates )
- Wp ....( white flower as dominant is expressed )
- Selfin
- Wp * Wp
- white * white
- W * p * W * p
- WW : Wp : Wp : pp
- 3 : 1 ( white : purple ) F2 = phenotypic ratio
- 1 : 2 : 1 ( white : impure white : purple ) F2 = genotypic ratio
- i.e; ....... b) white : purple is 3 : 1
- And then the genotypes were white , impure white , purple in the ratio 1 : 2 : 1
