Explain the damage caused to the hydrosphere due to the effect of global warming ​

Human contributions to greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are warming the earth's surface - a process which is projected to increase evaporation of surface water and accelerate the hydrologic cycle. In turn, a warmer atmosphere can hold more water vapor.

Global climate change, water pollution, damming of rivers, wetland drainage, reduction in stream flow, and irrigation have all exerted pressure on the hydrosphere's existing freshwater systems.

The activities of modern society are having a severe impact on the hydrologic cycle. Inadvertent and deliberate discharge of petroleum, improper sewage disposal, and thermal pollution also are seriously affecting the quality of the hydrosphere.
