Explain the defects of India food security system

All the poor are not given food for the same price, different ration cards are available to different sections of the poor, some of whom are just above the poverty line have to to pay almost as much as the market price.

People are dying of hunger even when there is abundance of grains in ration shops.

Since high level of buffer stocks is maintained, wastage of grains and rotting occurs.

Most of the grains are supplies from only a few specific states like Haryana and Punjab.
