The following steps were taken by Hitler to destroy the democracy of German that are:

  • January 30, 1933, president Hindenburg offered the chancellorship the highest position in the cabinet of ministers to Hitler.

  • The 'fire decree' of 28th February 1933 suspended civic rights  like freedom of speeches, press assembly that had been granted by the Weimer constitution.

  • The communists were sent to the concentration camps.

  • 3rd March 1933 the enabling act was passed.

  • This act gave Hitler all powers to rule by decree. All poltical parties and trade unions were banned except for the Nazi parties and its affiliates.
