Embryogenesis is the process by which the embryo forms and develops. In mammals, the term refers chiefly to early stages of prenatal development, whereas the terms fetus and fetal devlopment describe later stages.

Question :

Explain the development of a mature Embryo from Embryo Sac.

Answer :

Development of an Embryo

Once the process of fertilisation is over, a zygota gets formed. This zygote furthur develops to form an embryo. However, this happens when the zygote begins to divide repeatedly and forms different groups of cells. These groups of cells furthur develop and take the shape of different tissues and organs. This structure, where these developments take place, is called the embryo.

The embryo attaches itself to the wall of the uterus and grows furthur to form the baby. Another structure called the placenta forms at the place where the growing embryo is attached to the wall of the uterus.

The stage of the embryo's development in which the development and emergence of the various body parts such as the hands, the feet, the eyes, etc can be identified, is called the foetus.

Thank you.
