ANSWER :

Actually it's a nuculer reaction. Its called nuclear fission reaction. When the ratio of proton and neutron use to been greater than 1.5 then this kind of reaction occurs. Basically neutron and proton constantly transfer each other by sharing messo particle. When the ratio increases by adding one neutron its attraction power gets weaker. And it releases so much energy and breaks in two particle and 3 more neutron.

In this case when we hit uranium nucleus with a neutron it destroyed into two large particle and 3 neutrons and release so much energy.
