Difference between true solutions, suspensions and colloids on the basis of some property :-

Property :- particles size

True solutions :- Less than 10^-7 cm

Colloidal solutions:- Between 10^-5 and 10^-7 cm

Suspensions:- greater than 10^-5 cm

Property :- visible of particles

True solutions :- Invisible to naked eye not visible under powerful microscope

Colloidal solutions:- visible under powerful microscope

Property:- Sedimentation of particles

True solutions:- do not settle down

Colloidal solutions :- settle down under high Centrifugation

Suspensions :- settle down due to gravity.

property :- Filtration through filter paper

True solutions:- No residue is formed

Colloidal solutions :- No residue is formed

Suspensions :- Residue is formed.
