2N means two molecules of Nitrogen atoms.N2 means two atoms of Nitrogen in its one molecule.N2 shows that two nitrogen are bounded with covalent bonds and it becomes nitrogen gas whereas 2N does not show any bond , it just shows two number of nitrogen.
