Nucleotide at 3' is different from nucleotide present at 5' end of DNA in following way

Explanation:

  • Nucleotide is made up of 3 components which are phosphate group ,nitrogenous bases and pentose sugar.
  • Nitrogenous bases consist -Adenine, guanine , cytosine and thymine which are present at the inner side attached to pentose sugar which is further attached to phosphate group as this phosphate group is present at outer side and makes the backbone of DNA.

So at 3' end of dna there is free hydroxyl group of pentose sugar of nucleotide and at 5' end there is free phosphate group of nuceotide
