A plane mirror :

Image formed by a plane mirror :

Is virtual

Is erect and of the same size as the object

The distance of the object from the plane mirror is the same as the distance of the image from the plane mirror.

A concave mirror

A virtual image, erect and a bigger image is formed if the object is placed between the focus and the pole of the mirror.

If the object is placed at the focus(F), a real inverted and a very large image is formed at infinity.

A real, inverted and a magnified image is formed when the object is placed between the focus(F) and centre of curvature(C).

Real, inverted and same size image is formed at the centre of curvature when the image is placed at the centre of curvature(C).

If the object is placed between the centre of curvature and infinity then a real, inverted and smaller image is formed between the focus and centre of curvature.

A convex mirror :

If an object is at the infinity then, at the principal focus a point sized image is formed which is highly diminished, virtual and erect.

When the object is placed between infinity and the pole then, a diminished, virtual and erect image is formed between the pole and focus of the convex mirror.
