Points to be noted-

1.A gland may be a cell or a tissue .
2.Glands secrete certain chemical 3.Secretions in response to various metabolic activities of our body. These chemical secretions are known as harmones.

Harmones - these are target specific chemicals ,specific for specific function.

Mainly, there are two types of glands ,namely, Endocrine glands and Exocrine glands.

Endocrine glands-
Endocrine glands are the glands that have a duct (pipe-like or tubular structure) to pour their secretions.
Examples- pituitary gland, pineal gland adrenal cortex of adrenal gland, thymus ,thyroid gland, the parathyroid gland, etc.

How to remember this, because there will be lot of confusion between endocrine and exocrine, so, just rattify that ( because this is applicable everywhere and is very very important) the word ''Endo'' means 'going in' and that, the word "Exo" means 'going out' ,that is, exit. So, in endocrine gland, there is no duct, so, how does it secrete harmone? So, in these gland, blood enters the gland in order to pick the secreted harmone or we can say that the endocrine glands secrete or pour their secretions directly into the blood.
So, in an exocrine gland, there is a duct which comes out of the gland to pour it's secretion, that is, the duct exits the gland, so, exocrine.

Exocrine gland- It is a gland in which, a duct is present to pour their secretions or that the gland having duct to pour their secretions is called an Exocrine gland.
Examples- gastric gland, sebaceous glands, sweat gland, etc

One more type is
Heterocrine gland-this gland is the combination of both endocrine gland and Exocrine gland, I.e.,it consists both the types. Pancreas and gonads (sex organs - 'testis' in case of males and 'ovaries' in case of females) are Heterocrine glands.

This general knowledge is sufficient enough to help u if not, contact me.

Answer:

Gland could be a specialized cell - Ex. Goblet Cells or a group of cells which synthesize and secrete substances. Glands usually secrete substances. An organ is a group of differentiated tissues that perform a specific function.
