Nucleotides are made of three chemicals- a sugar (pentose, C5), phosphoric acid, and a nitrogen base (adenine, guanine , etc.).
These are building blocks of nucleic acid. While nucleoside consists of a pentose sugar and nitrogenous base only and when phosphate group is added to an nucleoside it becomes a nucleotide.
