MAN, Metropolitan Area Network

consists of different LAN networks, usually covering a vast metropolitan area or an entire city

this type of network can be specifically designed for campuses or large institutes and called campus network

For example, if a university has two campuses and the need to share the resources. The two campuses will be connected with LANs but together as a MAN.
