PAN, Personal Area Network

LAN, local area network

relatively inexpensive hardware, can be connected with Ethernet cables, probably switches, hubs

For example, if you have an office building, there is probably a LAN arrangement there. The can have shared drives, wired and wireless devices, separate virtual networks though VLAN, central printers connected. This type of network can have several PANs.
MAN, Metropolitan Area Network
consists of different LAN networks, usually covering a vast metropolitan area or an entire city
this type of network can be specifically designed for campuses or large institutes and called campus network
For example, if a university has two campuses and the need to share the resources. The two campuses will be connected with LANs but together as a MAN.
