1) Kinetic energy is the energy possessed by the body due to it's motion.
Potential energy is the energy possessed by the body because of it's shape or position.
2) Kinetic energy is given by the formula: K.E= ½
mv²
Potential energy is given by the formula: P.E= mgh
3) e.g. flowing water, such as when falling from a waterfall.
e.g. water at the top of a waterfall, before the drop.
