Xylem :

1. Xylem carries water from roots to leaves .

2. Made up of dead cells .

3. Cell wall is stick .

4. Cell wall is made up of lignin

5. Cells are inpermeable in water .

6. Cells do not have a cytoplasm .

7. Carries water in a unidirectional manner from roots to apical parts of the plant .

8. Found in the centre of the vascular handle .

9. Passive voice transportation of water and minerals occur .

Pholem :

1. Pholem carries food from leaves to growing parts and storage organs .

2. Made up of living cells .

3. Cell wall is thin .

4. Cell wall is made up of cellulose .

5. Cells are permeable to food .

6. Energy is liberated in the form of ATP .

7. Carries food bidirectionally from leaves to storage parts and from the storage parts to growing parts.

8. Found in the outside of the vascular bundle.
