as we all know sun rises in the east . so in arunachal pradesh sun rises 2 hours earlier than the rest of the country and the time lags 2 hours from the rest of the country . so to avoid this confusion of time gap india has adopted a standard meridian of 82.5 E which passes through mirzapur which is located in uttar Pradesh. now time in time runs according to this standard meridian .india follows only one time format
