plains are the most suitable places to cultivate crops  like paddy,wheat Ex nothern plains in india.plateaus are dry regions where it is difficult to cultivate crops and the second crop depends on tube wells Ex deccan plateau .Mountains are cool regions and suitable for cultivating beverages like coffee ,tea.northern plains are rich in alluvial soil. plateau regions are rich in black soil.mountain region have fertile soil . plains are located at lower levels . so, the availability of water for irrigation is surplus.plateau region is an elevated region so here the availability of water is less
