THE CRITERIA USED BY UNDP TO COMPARE THE COUNTRIES IS HDI-HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX.
the criteria used by HDI is per-capita income or average income . health or infant mortality rate . literacy rate .
Infant Mortality Rate - Number of children that die before the age of 1 year in proportion of 1000 live children born in that particular year.
Literacy Rate – A proportion of the population of an area at a particular time aged 7 years or above, who can read and write with understanding.
Per capita income- Its is the average income of a country . it is taken because some countries are highly populated where as some are less so total income will not show how much an average individual earns so we take per capita income=total income/ population .
