Plantae is divided into the following categories (phylum) -

* Thallophyta - Simplest organisms, with unicellular cell design. Ex - blue-green algae, bacteria, etc.

* Bryophyta - Flowerless plants which lack true roots and reproduce using spores. Ex - moss, liverworts, etc.

* Pteridophyta - These have specialised tissues, like xylem and phloem, and reproduce using spores. Ex - fern.

* Angiosperms - Reproduce using seeds which don't have any protective covering. Ex - cactus, rose, etc.

* Gymnosperms - Similar to angiosperms, but have seed coverings. Ex - fir, pine, etc
