Different methods of irrigation
Explanation:
- Crops require water for their growth and development , the process of supplying water to the crops is called irrigation.
- The frequency , rate, and amount of irrigation are different for different crops it depends on the type of crops and seasons.
- There are two different methods of irrigation.
- Traditional methods- use of water by farmer from canals and wells , efficiency of this method is poor , other traditional methods are pulley system, lever system, chain pump etc.
- Modern methods- these methods are more advance and efficient , it includes sprinkler system( sprinkling of water over crop) , drip system (water supply is done drop by drop exactly at roots using a pipe).
