Primitive subsistence farming
Primitive subsistence agriculture is practised on small patches of land with the help of primitive tools like hope dove and digging steaks with help of family or community labour. This type of farming depends upon monsoon and natural fertility of the soil and suitability of the environmental conditions to the crops grown. It is a slash and burn agriculture because farmers clear a patch of land and produced serials and other food crops to sustain their family. When the soil fertility decreases the famous shift and clear a fresh patch of land for cultivation.
Intensive subsistence agriculture
This type of farming is practised in areas of high population pressure on the land because it is labour intensive farming where high doses of biochemical inputs and irrigation are used for obtaining higher production.
Commercial farming
The main characteristic of this type of farming is use of high doses of modern inputs e.g high yielding variety seeds and chemical fertilizers, insecticides and pesticides to obtain higher productivity.
Plantation
