Alimentary canal is comprised of following parts:
- Mouth
- Pharynx
-Esophagus
- Stomach
- Intestine
Different parts of alimentary canal exhibit different types of movements. For example:
In mouth, teeth grinds the food, which then pass through pharynx and then move down to esophagus. In esophages, the food moves down via peristalsis. In stomach, food is mixed with the digestive juices and the muscular movement of stomach muscles break down the food further into small particles. Then food particles move to the intestine.
