• Political map

It shows the State boundaries of a country or a place. They are mostly used.

• Physical map

It only shows the physical features of a country,state, places like Rivers, mountains, valleys, desserts.

• Thematic map

These maps are different from others as they do not indicate physical features or state boundaries. These maps focuses on important topics of geographical disturbances such as human population,climates,e.t.c.

• Road maps

These maps are designed for showing the roads of a country or an area

• Topographical maps

Shows topographical features of earth or land contours by means of contour lines.

• Climatic maps

It gives a depiction of weather patterns in a given area usually consists of conventional map.
