Bonjour!

When we take the food inside our mouth and chew it salivary amalyse from salivary gland is released which break down starch present in the food. The food next travel through foodpipe(or oesophagus) through peristaltic movements. The food goes to stomach where pancreas release pancreatic juices. When it go to small intestine mucous, pepsin and hydrochloric acid is released. Mucous prevent HCl damage stomach walls and pepsin digest food easily and HCl acid make alkaline food acidic. The wall of small intestine contain glands which convert proteins to amino acids, complex carbohydrates into glucose and fats to fatty acids and glycerol. The large intestine absorb water and the rest material is removed by anus.
