Explain the dispersion of a ray of light through a glass prism

When a ray of light passes through a glass prism,it bends at the surface or changes direction. The bending of light when it passes from one medium to another is called reflection of light. This is why white light disperses into different colours when it passes from one transparent medium to another at an angle.
