Answer:
Orientalists were the individuals with scholarly knowledge of the language and the culture of Asia whereas Anglicists were the individuals who are well versed in the English language. The issue of disagreement between the Orientalists and the Anglicists was that Anglicists wanted India to learn the English language and literature which would help them to know about the western science and philosophy. It is the only way to civilize Indians whereas Orientalists considered that Indian through the ancient texts and literature should know about their history and culture so they encouraged people to value their own literature and study it to know about their country.
