There are two types of Deciduous forests that is Moist Deciduous and Dry Deciduous.

  • In our India, The moist deciduous forest is distributed in West Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and foothills of Himalayas.

  • In India, The dry deciduous forests is distributed in Bihar, plains of Uttar Pradesh.

  • Moist deciduous forests are found in are also found in Andaman and Nicobar island.

  • There are many where Dry deciduous forests are found. They are - central India Africa, Lesser Sundas, Indochina, Madagascar, New Caledonia, Brazil Caribbean and Mexico.

  • They grow in area receiving rainfall between 200 and 70 cm.

  • The tree of deciduous forests shade their leaves in 6 to 8 weeks in the summer.

As the name goes, tropical deciduous forests are found along the Equator belt between the tropic of Cancer and tropic of Capricorn. Major states where tropical deciduous forests are found: Madhya Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh
