Here is your answer Rehan Bhai :
_______________________________

First of all.

Britain was a powerful European nation which had many colonies in it. To continue their secure rule the British came up with a policy named Divide and Rule policy. In this policy British divide the colony in two small parts and continue their rule. This policy made them to rule easier than before. As, the unity of colony is distributed by the policy.

For example :

British used their divide and rule policy in India also. where they partitioned Bengal into east and west based on the religion. This partition made many problems and riots were took place. This disturbed the unity among people and they didn't care about British rule. So, British ruled easily.

They not only divided Bengal but also they played an important role in partition of India and Pakistan. This led a easy and secure rule over India.

British used this policy in many colonies. They used this policy in Nigeria also where they played an important role in partition of Nigeria into two parts as North and South Nigeria based on religions. This also made their rule easier.
