Explain the division of northen plains on the basis of rivers.​

➡The rivers in their lower course split into numerous channels or streams due to the deposition of silt. These channels or streams are known as Distributaries. The northern plain is divided into three sections, i.e. the Punjab Plain, the Ganga Plain and the Brahmaputra Plain.
