It was first believed that the electromagnetic radiation were waves only as it explained characteristics like diffraction and interference. But after some time the wave nature of these radiation failed to justify other observations like black body radiation, photoelectric effect, variation of heat capacity as a function of temperature etc.....Hence the scientists at that time were in a dilemma ......Finally a theory was formed that the electromagnetic radiations exhibit both wave nature and particle nature.... The theory stated that when radiation interacts with the matter, it displays particle like properties while when it propagates ....it displays wave like properties....Hope you understood....Mark me the brainliest.....
