1) Agriculture was commercialized and farmers were coerced to grow cash crops like cotton, jute,indigo and so on which hampered Indian economy very badly.

2) Company servants manipulated commodity prices because of which agricultural commodities were sold at low prices.

3) High land revenue were imposed on peasants and different form of revenue system were implemented by the company in order to take more and more advantage.

4) Indian handicrafts industry collapsed and this collapse was caused largely by competition with the cheaper imported machine made goods from Britain.

5) Indian economy transformed into colonial economy and started working according to the whims and fancies of the company. India which was self sufficient became a mere supplier of raw materials and importer of British machine made products.
