जालिया वाला बाग में वैशाखी के मेले का आयोजन 13 अप्रैल 1919 को था उसी बाग में एक सभा का आयोजन किया गया । जनरल डायर के आदेश पर अंधाधुन गोलियों की बौछार की गई। जिसमे सैकड़ों लोगों की मौत हो गई और वही एक कुआ था जिसमे अपनी जान बचाने के लिए बहुत लोग कूद पड़े लेकिन उस कुएं में गोलियों चलाई गई । इसी पर खूनी वैशाखी नामक किताब लिखी गई हैं।।
