There can be the following effects of temperature on states of matter:
1) Vaporization: this phenomenon changes the state of liquid matter into the gaseous state. For example: vapours from boiling of water.
2) Melting: this phenomenon occurs in solids and is responsible for changing the state of solid matter into liquid. For example: melting of ice.
3) Sublimation: this phenomenon takes place in solids as well and is responsible for changing of solid into vapours. For example: changing of camphor into vapours.
