There are two types of vascular bundles in the plants viz. Xylem & Phloem. Xylem carries water & nutrients to the leaves against gravity while phloem carries food prepared by leaves to other parts of plants.

If phloem is absent, plant will die because the plants cells will not get energy to function properly.
