• The economic effects of the non-cooperation movement were very significant. Foreign goods were boycotted, liquor shops were picketed and bonfires were lit of foreign cloth.

• The domestic textile mills and hand looms industry got a shot in the arm since people had begun to prefer Indian clothes over imported ones.

• Merchants and traders abstained from trading in foreign goodor finance foreign trade.

• Between 1921 and 1922, the import of foreign cloth dropped by half and its value also diminished.

Non cooperation movement vegans in 1920.many diverse religion all groups joined movement to meet their specific objectives.many students teachers and headmasters joined the movement.lawyers also gave up their legal practice and joined in.


People picketed the liquor shops and boycotted foreign goods and cloths.some Indian traders also rejected foreign good and forging trade.the demand for the Indian cloth increased and the vanishing textile industry of India got a new lease of life.
