The Foreign products were boycotted. and the products already present were either picketed or burnt. Thus the import of cloths fell to half from original. They started to wear to only Indian cloths and use Indian products, so Indian industries started to prosper
The effects of the Non-cooperation Movement on the economic front were.
(a). The import of foreign cloth halved between 1921 and 1922 and it's value dropped from 102 crores to 57 crores.
(b). Foreign goods were boycott,liquor shops picketed and foreign cloth brunt in huge bonfires.
(c). In many places traders and merchants refused to trade in foreign goods or finance foreign goods.
(d). As the boycott movement spread people refused to wear imported clothes and wore only Indian ones.
(e). Production of Indian textiles and handlooms went up.
