The eight fold paths were
Right faith
Right Aspiration
Right action
Right living
Right speech
Right effort
Right meditation
Right Contemplation (consideration)
These were also called the middle path
And Buddha believed in following a middle course avoiding two extremes I.e neither indulging in extreme attachment to worldly pleasures nor practising severe self mortification(humiliation).
Hope this helps. ^_^
