Answer

⚫Hydrogen spectrum

◾Hydrogen spectrum is obtained by exciting electrons present in hydrogen gas using a discharge tube under low pressure and high voltage of current.

◾The electrons present in various atoms of hydrogen observed energy and jumps to higher energy levels.

◾Later they returned back to the lower energy levels by cutting phase of energy in the form of photons.

◾When these electrons are coming to the lower energy state a series of lines were formed called hydrogen spectrum.

» Emission Spectra
================
================

• It is noticed that when radiations emitted from a source are passed through a prism and then recurved on a photographic plate. Radiations can be emitted in number of ways.

Radiations can be emitted from sun or glowing electric bulb.

By passing electric discharge throughout a gas at low pressure.

By hearing a substance to high temperature.

• Emission spectrum is of two types

Continuous and Line Spectrum

* When an electric discharge is passed through Hydrogen gas. In discharge tube under low pressure (10⁴- atm)

Then it emits light which is analysed by Spectroscope.

It's spectra consists of large number of lines of different series and frequencies.
