Nose allows you to smell and is thus a sensory organ of the body. The roof of nasal cavity has the olfactory epithelium.

The olfactory epithelium contains millions of smell receptors with ability to sense particular molecules of smell.

When you smell anything like an apple pie, the smell receptors are stimulated.

The signals are carried through the olfactory nerve to olfactory bulb, situated on the front of the brain and other parts of brain.
