explain the exact mean that when an element loose electrons so why it has positive charge in it ? explain with the help of exqmple

See..an atom in general is neutral which means it has equal positive and negative charge (electrons and protons) but when an atom lose electrons it means that it is left with more positive charge.

For example: Na having 11 electrons and protons(neutral) ...it loses 1 electron out of the 11 ..so how much negative charge is left (11-1= 10) but it still has 11 protons that is ..it is having more positive charge than negative
