1 DIOPTRE.

Given:

The focal length=100cm

To find:

The power of the lens

Solution:

The required value of the power is 1 dioptre.

We can obtain the required value by taking the reciprocal of the given focal length.

Let the power be P.

So, Power, P=1/Focal length of the lens

The given focal length=100 cm

=1 m

Using value,

P=1/1

=1 dioptre

Therefore, the required value of the power is 1 dioptre.

The focal length of a convex lens is the space among the middle of a lens and its focus. Here, the rays of mild travelling parallel to the major axis converge at a factor and the focal point is referred to as the actual focus.Convex lens energy is described because the cappotential of the lens to converge the rays of mild which fall on it as proven withinside the underneath figure. It can mathematically be described as P = 1f, wherein f is the focal duration. S.I. unit of energy is the Diopter.
