Explanation:

Aim:To show the reaction between an acid and a metal

Things needed:granulated zinc metal, a test tube and 5mL of dil. sulphuric acid and a delivery tube .

steps: 1.Take about 5mL of dil.sulphuric acid in a test tube and as a few pieces of zinc granules to it

2. Connect a delivery tube with the test tube so that it passes to the soap solution.

Observation:We will observe that hydrogen gas bubbles are formed in the solution and we can test whether the gas liberated is either hydrogen by passing it through a soap solution and the bringing a burning candle if the candle burns with a pop sound then it is hydrogen gas .

From this we can conclude that

Acid + Metal -----> Salt + Hydrogen gas

and the reaction is

Zn + H2SO4 ----> ZnSO4+ H2
