HI friend

EXTRACTION OF SODIUM METAL

sodium metal is extracted by electrolytic reduction of molten sodium chloride. ( because sodium always exist in chloride form ) when electric current is passed through molten sodium chloride it decompose to form sodium metal and chlorine gas.

EQUATION AS FOLLOWS

sodium chloride -------> sodium metal + chlorine gas

EXTRACTION OF MERCURY

Mercury is less reactive metal. And it is produced from cinnabar.

in MERCURY EXTRACTION

First mercury sulphide ( mercury exist in sulphide form ) is roasted in air to form mercury oxide

EQUATION AS FOLLOWS

Mercury sulphide + oxygen ---------> mercury oxide + sulphur dioxide

Second mercury oxide formed is heated to form mercury and oxygen

EQUATION AS FOLLOWS

mercury oxide -----------> mercury + oxygen

if it help u Please mark it as brainlist

it takes so much effort to type and help you please appreciate my efforts
