1)Even though the total strength of UN General Assembly is 193, only 5 permanent members, namely China,Russia, UK,US and France , enjoys the Veto Power according to which the Council is not allowed to take any decision which is not approved by any of the permanent members.The misuse of this right by the members makes UNO a non-democratic organisation.
2)The voting rights of the members are not equal and are weighed by the amount of money contributed by the country to IMF ( INTERNATIONAL MONETARY FUND).Hence,More than 54% of the voting power lies of in the hands of only 10 countries and the remaining countries have a very little say while taking decisions. It is considered as another main reason for UNO being a non-democratic organisation.
