(i) There is suitable climate with frost-free period which allows for timely ripening and harvesting.

(ii) The area receives moderate rainfall or average 560 mm annually which is suitable for wheat growing.

(iii) There is extensive land that allows cultivation on a large scale.

(iv) The presence of fertile prairies soils.

(v) The undulating/gently sloping landscape allows use of farm machinery.
