Explain the factors that make federal government of India so attractive.

India is the largest democracy in the world. Though all states of India have the right to rule by a democratically elected government the central government takes care of the states welfare too. It does not interfere in the state affairs without state’s consent.Defense,Foreign affairs,Railways,Airways ,Sea ports,Import Export and communications are under direct control of the central government. No one is above the law in India. Though Justice department is also under the federal government it is an autonomous body and functions independently. The President of India is elected through members of parliament. He is the head of our defense forces. And he is also the constitutional head of the country. No one has extrajudicial powers.
