Heya
Here is your answer
________________
1. The city of Bombay expanded rapidly after it became the capital of the Bombay Presidency in 1819.
2. It became the hub of trade in opium and cotton and many textile mills were established here.
3. Women worked in large numbers in these mills but by the late 1930s their jobs were increasingly taken over by the machines or by men.
4. Bombay was also at the junction head of two major railways. The railways encouraged a large number of people to migrate into the city e.g. the famine in Kutch region forced a large number of people to migrate to Bombay in 1888-89.
