Once food is ingested in the mouth, salivary glands begin working on it. Moistening, chewing and breaking of starch into sugar are done in the mouth.

The food then travels down the oesophagus and pushed thereafter into the stomach.

The food is only partly digested in the stomach. The semi solid food is passed on to the small intestine where it is digested and absorbed into the blood to be carried to all parts of the body.

The undigested food thereafter passes to the large intestine where water is absorbed from it and the rest passes through rectum to anus, where the body throws out the waste.

This system is called the digestive system.

A diagram has also been asked for.
